Fusible thread. 115 yds. 100% Nylon. Fuses without the stiffness of adhesive web. Great alternative for fusible applique, especially when multiple layers are involved."Fusible Thread is Nylon, made to melt." "MonoPoly is an invisible Polyester much like the Invisible Nylon on the market, but with much more added benefits."
Here's an explanation of Nylon vs. Poly
Nylon thread should not exist in your sewing supplies unless you want the thread to melt . Nylon threads, whether they are woollie-type threads or invisible monofilament threads, have a very low melting temperature, discolor or "yellow" over time, and go brittle.
Polyester threads exist in both the woollie-type and the invisible monofilament (monopoly) . Polyester has a high heat tolerance, will not discolor, or go yellow.
One more thing to check: If your monofilament thread is labeled "polyamide," that is not polyester, but the chemical name for nylon. Don't be fooled.
Superior Threads does not carry a Nylon Invisible Monofilament thread. Our Monopoly is Polyester and therefore is dryer safe, won't yellow, won't go brittle over time, & can be ironed on a lower heat setting. We suggest using a Polyester Invisible Monofilament thread over Nylon for these reasons...by Superior Threads

Dissolve Water Soluble Stabilizers
Dissolve
™ Water Soluble Stabilizer is a film that dissolves in water. It is excellent for embroidery, monogramming, quilting, lace work, buttonholes, applique, and much more! Easy to use and will work with any hooped project. Simply lay Dissolve™ on top of your project, complete your sewing/quilting/embroidery, and soak in water or run it through a wash cycle.
Dissolve 4x
™ Water Soluble Stabilizer is four times thicker than regular Dissolve™ for tracing quilt templates. Trace the template design with a fine point sharpie or permanent ink pen, place the Dissolve 4x™ on top of your quilt, and follow your traced design without the need for dealing with template tissue paper falling apart while stitching. Tear away the stabilizer after it has been stitched and any remaining pieces will simply wash away!
Dissolve™ and Dissolve 4x™ are great for Heirloom Work, Free Motion Quilting, Embroidery on Towels, Delicate Fabrics, Thread Painting, and Freestanding Lace.
What is Dissolve™ Water Soluble Stabilizer?
Why use water soluble stabilizer? Using Dissolve™ allows you to keep your stitches from disappearing in high-pile fabrics (such as towels of fluffy cotton) and is wonderful for lace work since it provides a firm, stable surface on which to stitch.
For embroidery, project variety allows either the front or the back of your project to be hooped.
When finished stitching, simply submerse your project in water and our water soluble stabilizer dissolves.
Here are some tips on how to incorporate Dissolve™ into your projects:
Freestanding Lace is lace which has dense underlay stitching to provide support for when water soluble stabilizer is washed away. Using a single layer of Dissolve 4x™ in the place of fabric, stitch the design into Dissolve 4x™ and when complete, simply soak in water for Dissolve™ to disappear.
Garment Fiber Overlay- With the same techniques as freestanding lace, cut Dissolve 4x™ into the desired shape of the pattern or garment, lay fabric scraps, fibers, thread tails, etc. on top of the Dissolve 4x™ and stitch. Once complete, soak and wear!
Heirloom- Use Dissolve™ with repeat rows of stitching since Dissolve™ can be easily washed away, it will not add more work by picking any stabilizer from under your stitches.
Towels- Place Dissolve™ on top of high pile fabrics or high looped fabrics when embroidering. This allows the embroidery design to lie on top of the loops/pile of the fabric without getting tangled in the piles. Simply wash when complete.
Delicate Fabrics- When you don't want to risk a tearaway stabilizer due to the delicate features of certain fabrics, Dissolve™ is a wonderful substitute.
Free Motion Quilting- Trace any design or template onto a sheet of Dissolve 4x™ using a fine point marker. Lay it on top of your quilt and stitch away! Tear any left over scraps and soak to dissolve any left over stabilizer.
Thread Painting- Using Dissolve 4x™ as a base for thread painting, it will provide a sturdy foundation.

MONO.POLY--Polyester monofilament invisible thread. Soft and heat resistant. Clear (matte-finish) and Smoke. Size .004 (very fine) 2200 yds!
Superior Monopoly is polyester and dryer safe; won't yellow, won't go brittle over time, & can be ironed on a lower heat setting. We suggest using a Polyester Invisible Monofilament thread instead of a Nylon monofilament (which has a lower melting point) for these reasons.
Q: Can I use MonoPoly on both top and in the bobbin?
A: MonoPoly is a wonderful top thread and bobbin thread but some machines may not like using them together. If you use MonoPoly on top, we prefer using the Bottom Line in the bobbin. If you use MonoPoly in the bobbin, any other Superior thread should be fine on top.
Q: What size needle should I use with MonoPoly?
A: In home machines, we recommend using our #70/10 Topstitch needle. On midarm and longarm machines, we recommend a size #14 (MR 3.0) needle.
Q: What do you mean by matte finish MonoPoly?
A: MonoPoly is a monofilament thread and by nature, all monofilament threads are shiny. We have developed a reduced sheen or matte monofilament. There is still some sheen but not as much as non-matte types.
Q: What thread should I use in the bobbin when using MonoPoly on the top?
A: Use The Bottom Line #623 in the bobbin and MonoPoly on top when going for the true invisible look.
Q: Will you ever carry MonoPoly in a larger cone?
A: Probably. We are experimenting with it now.
Q: Why don’t you have MonoPoly prewound bobbins?
A: They are in the works.
Q: Why is MonoPoly polyester and not nylon?
A: Our Monopoly is polyester and therefore is dryer safe, won't yellow, won't go brittle over time, and can be ironed on a lower heat setting. Polyester monofilament is a higher quality fiber than a nylon monofilament.
Q: Can I iron MonoPoly? Will it melt?
A: MonoPoly is 100% polyester and has a much higher heat tolerance than nylon monofilaments. MonoPoly is ironable but make sure the iron is set to medium or low heat.

SUPERIOR Titanium-coated Needles for ALL Home Machines
Titanium-coated needles have been available for longarm and industrial machines for many years; however, these are the first titanium-coated Topstitch style needles made for home machines. Superior Threads (USA) and Organ Needle Company (Japan) have applied the latest technology of titanium-coated needles to the Topstitch style for home machines. These new titanium-coated needles have an ultra thin coat of titanium nitride layered on the surface to extend their productive life by 5-8 times that of conventional needles. In the past, most professionals recommended changing the needle every project or every 8 hours of usage. Imagine having a needle that will last 40 to 60 hours. This is equivalent to saving 80% on the cost of needles.
The Topstitch needle is the most common needle used today by professionals and educators. Recommended for piecing, quilting, appliqué, embroidery, and construction--can be used for ALL thread types including metallics. Often called the Magic Needle!
Home Machines
In the longarm quilting world, one of the most popular needles is the MR (Multiple Range) needle, originally made by Singer. This needle was designed with less flex to accommodate sewing through multiple layers and thereby reduce needle breakage. Another needle, the SAN (Special Application Needle) was developed as a multi-directional needle by Groz-Beckert company. SAN needles were developed to accommodate computerized machines and longarm machines because both require multi-directional stitching. Groz-Beckert bought the Singer industrial sewing machine needle division about 10 years ago and has recently integrated these two needle designs. As a result, we now have Multi Range and Multi-directional functions combined into a single needle type. These new needles are available with titanium-coating and last 5-8 times longer than standard needles. They are packaged in green plastic cases and are labeled using the MR designation. They are available in sizes ranging from MR 2.0 (#70) to MR 6.0 (#23) with the most common sizes for quilting being MR 3.0 through MR 4.5.
In the past, there have been differences in cross reference guides for the MR system and the number system needle sizes. Now that Groz-Beckert needles and Singer needles are under the same name, the correct cross reference system supplied by the manufacturer is available below:
Needle Size
#14 = MR 3.0
#16 = MR 3.5
#18 = MR 4.0
#19 = MR 4.5
#20 and #21 = MR 5.0
